@all: i have to say that trying to create an american apparel image ist not really a major issue! Just take any Girl that always wanted to ne an Model for a campaign (theese Girls probably have no idea what they are doing). Or simply take any average Gay Boy and strip their clothes of take a pic of then ob your kitchen table or in your bed. Congratulations YOU are the new Muse of AA! So Michaela i am all With you!!

mirjana, that’s of course a valid argument – nevertheless, to me it doesn’t really make a difference in the idea of how to sell the product. It’s kind of ironic but not at all social critical and avantgarde from my POV ;-)

@ Michaela: yes we can easy compare the last W&J campaign with some of the Terry Richardson work, but there is some difference. Terry Richardson is really sexy, discovering the point where it really happens. W&J are not sexy. They are rough and without feeling illustrate exactly typical pornographic poses and acts (maybe for some refreshing: http://spamfreexxx.com/). With that distance I recognize them again as social critical and avantgarde.

@ zum speibm: danke f. deinen comment! — das widerliche Gehabe, ala “ich hab den größten” passt so auffallend gut zum offensichtlich angestrebten image und disqualifiziert sich damit ja eh selber.

womöglich wird das noch eine richtige guerilla campaign, und wir können dann später mal stolz sagen: “ja, wir waren teil davon” *grin*

@ Fr.Jona&son wollt ich noch anmerken: ich finde eben NICHT, dass das “neue Ästhetizismen” sind, sondern eher der Versuch auf einen bewusst provokativen Stil aufzuspringen, den Leute wie Terry Richardson seit Jahren mit Kampagnen f. Sisley oder D&G geprägt haben. also eher eine me-too Vermarktungsstratgegie.

nur weil jemand etwas kritisiert, ist diese person nicht gleich ” frustrated, overworked & underfucked “, das ist doch einfach widerlich unter jeder gürtellinie – normalerweise das allerletzte gegenargument, wenn man sich inhaltlich nicht mehr zu helfen weiss.

schaut wirklich nach kampfposter aus.

die fotos und die kompositionen , das setdesign , die details etc. mögen ja ganz professionell und clean rüberkommen, aber der inhalt (gepunktete jeans und unterhosen) sind für mich einfach nicht genug. grad neben all den andern kollektionen, die präsentiert werden in berlin, gackt w+j+h einfach total ab!

die schiene “sex sells” funktioniert doch schon längst nicht mehr und vor allem nicht in dieser szene ! man wirds ja an den verkaufszahlen sehn.

Personally, i really love the new campaign concept, not to be believed how fresh, pure and totally new W&J still are. ..the first 2 pics + groupshot are just amazing!

really well done guys, like the compositions, the small little details, the reflection on the table with the super cool hat piece, cast, make up & the very modern look and feel of the photography..

+ of course the most important thing in this story.. the clothes, are just adorable!!

seems that there is somebody may bit frustrated, overworked & underfucked .D

sorry, but instead of bitching around in your sweet little blog, you should be proud to have such an impressive attitude in fashion comin´up from your city.

did you also see the blk/white images with the graphic artwork? mastermind helmut lang himself can be meant as a modern reference or a guidance for all we´ve seen..

and by the way, what kind of super cool male underwear except of classics like ck or 2xist is seen all over the world.. AA.. thank you very much.. this is really boring..

anyway, in the end.. the most important fashion cities will love it and you will be still discussing about all dis & dat shit for ages..

the collaboration rocks as HELL and i´m pretty sure that W&J give a shit about all that anyway.. zzz shame on you..
